About D'Angelo
D’Angelo Virgo is a lifelong resident of Philadelphia’s 192nd Legislative District, raised in the Wynnefield and Overbrook neighborhoods that shaped his values, work ethic, and commitment to service. A proud product of Philadelphia’s public schools, he began his education at Woodbine Academy, attended Cassidy Elementary School, and graduated from Beeber Middle School.
Education has always been central to D’Angelo’s life and career. He is a former educator and high school track coach with a deep passion for young people and their success. He is also an author, a classically trained violinist, and a certified arraignment court magistrate—experiences that have given him a well-rounded perspective on justice, discipline, creativity, and leadership.
D’Angelo transitioned from education into public service and politics, working as a political strategist with a national focus on voter education in communities of color. Seeking to merge civic engagement with education, he founded and currently serves as the Executive Director of Civically Engaged, a nonprofit organization that provides civic education to justice-impacted juveniles. He also works closely with the West Philadelphia String Music and Mentorship Program, supporting youth through music, mentorship, and opportunity.
D’Angelo is running for State Representative because he loves the 192nd District. It is the community that raised him, shaped his worldview, and informed who he is today.
His campaign is focused on education reform, juvenile justice reform, protecting seniors, and strengthening public safety—priorities rooted in lived experience and community need.
He is committed to being A Voice for the 192—authentic, accountable, and deeply rooted in the district he proudly calls home
